Nyota

She is half Congolese and half Belgian, and she is passionate about the Dominican Republic.
In the summer of 2016, she wanted to start dancing Kizomba but she ended up dancing her first ‘box’ thanks to one of her closest friends, with whom, later that year she went on a vacation to DR.
She immediately felt home, because she can easily blend in with the locals without being seen as ‘different’, at the least until she start speaking Spanish, but she is working on that !

When in 2018 she started going to the festivals with John & Nushi and Jordy a while new world opened up for her. She didn’t felt alone anymore dancing ‘like this’.

Bachata for her means:

– Freedom.

– Sentimiento.

– Teteo on Sunday with a mamajuana.

John & Nushi

John (Ecuador) & Nushi (Bulgaria)  met in 2013 dancing salsa in Antwerp.

Both quickly felt connection while dancing, discovered that their real passion is bachata and thanks to all that, they became a couple in real life as well.

In 2016, while searching for deeper knowledge, they started traveling to festivals, educating themselves and exploring new ways to share their love and passion for Bachata and the Dominican Republic.

Since 2018 they have mainly dedicated themselves to the traditional and authentic style of bachata. That same year, they finally found likeminded dancers Nyota and Jordy, which whom they could share their passion.

Bachata for them means:

-Happiness

-Connection

-Mamajuana for Nushi!

Jordy

He is fullblooded Spanish.

His dance journey started in 2016 dancing Cuban Slasa for two years straight.

While going out to dance every weekend, he met John & Nushi and Nyota at parties.

Their contagiousness for Dominican Bachata & Culture made him travel with them and a whole new world opened up for him.

Bachata for him means:

-Connection with your dance partner

-Disconnecting from the rest of the world

-Relaxed vibes
